The GASTROBACK 42542 Design BBQ Advanced Smart is a versatile table grill that works both as a closed contact grill and, opened flat to 180°, as a full-size barbecue. Its 2000-watt integrated heating elements bring the plates up to temperature quickly, and you can choose from 6 preset programs for steak, poultry, burger, bratwurst, sandwich and fish, plus a manual mode. The steak program offers four doneness levels — rare, medium rare, medium and well-done — and automatically adjusts the time to the thickness of the meat. The contact grill is adjustable in 10 steps from 150–240 °C, while the open BBQ mode adjusts separately in 7 steps from 150–210 °C. The roughly 745 cm² contact surface expands to about 1490 cm² when opened. The ridged and flat plates are interchangeable, and the flat plate is also ideal for crêpes, omelettes and fried eggs. The non-stick coating enables healthy, low-fat cooking, while the integrated drip tray makes cleaning easy. The removable plates are dishwasher safe.
